God is pulling us forward now in preparation. All of us are preparing to receive Jesus Christ more fully and to grow up in every way into him. None of us knows what the future holds for us as individuals or as a church. Even so, we stretch forward to where God is pulling us, trusting that he is the one creating the tension, and that he will be the one receiving us as we land in a new place. As the prophet Isaiah wrote, “See, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will feed his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms, and carry them in his bosom, and gently lead the mother sheep” (Is 40:10-11). Yes, yes he will. Amen.
