There’s an important point to make here: The mindset with which we live influences how we live and what we create. One of the slaves began with fear, created nothing, and ended up with less than he had to begin with. Two of the slaves began with faith, created something, and ended up with more than they had to begin with. Two different mindsets, two different experiences, two different results, yet they all had the same master. In other words, they all had the same circumstances in their lives. It wasn’t as if two of them had one kind of master and so lived faithfully, while the other had a different kind of master and so lived fearfully. They all had the same master. It wasn’t the circumstances that created the mindset, the experience, and the result; it was the people themselves.
This parable forces us to ask ourselves whether we live out of fear or out of faith. It shows us that fearfulness breeds more fear and scarcity, whereas faithfulness breeds more faith and abundance.
