It is difficult to know how to help the homeless who are asking for money or food. If we give money, we don't know if we're contributing to an addiction, and we might not have food handy to give. Backpack care kits are a way to give something useful and necessary.
Some of the youth of our church decided to keep their backpacks in the car; others decided to donate their backpacks to Canton Senior and Social Services. Claire Cote, Canton Senior and Social Services Director, was thrilled to receive the backpack care kits! She stated that Canton Senior and Social Services and the Police Department would put the backpacks to good use. The attached photo is of Claire Cote and Christopher Arciero, Canton Chief of Police, receiving backpack care kits from Bella and Roel Johnson from Canton Community Baptist Church.
Please consider assembling and donating backpack care kits. Below is a video that explains how to assemble a backpack care kit.
