For the next several weeks, the highlights of the annual meeting table conversations will be highlighted in the enews for information that you may take back to your churches and ministry.
Congregations of the Future
We felt that it would be as it is today, which is a struggle to find ways to engage the youth in ways which is exciting to them.
Finding ways to bridge the old traditions with technology.
We wanted the church to be open and engaging to the entire congregation and make decisions, which will ultimately benefit the church body and not a selected few.
We envisioned satellite locations which will serve individuals who may not want to travel across town to attend service.
We also wanted to see the congregations splitting up in small groups to worship, we felt this would be more engaging and might increase the chances that the message will stick.
Take away:
Be more engaging and open minded with the congregation, and finding ways to meet the needs of each generation.
> Small group worship,
> Including the youth in all aspects of service/worship.
Technologies:
Social Media,
tweet and facebook while in church about the word and your location.
Using iPads or tablets instead of or with your bibles.
